Before entering the majors, he won nearly every conceivable baseball award, including the High School Homerun Derby in 2018, High School Baseball Player of the Year, and more. In 2024 he signed a deal with the Royals worth nearly $300 million, and was recently chosen as a Major League All-Star, competing in the MLB Homerun Derby, finishing 2nd.
